The 3rd and final day of competition at the VI International Optimist Trophy – City of Torrevieja – developed as usual and within schedule. The race began with land breeze to roll to south at midmorning. With an intensity between 8 and 10 knots dominating throughout the races, all scheduled  tests were completed.
In view of the results, net 9 points, the race was almost a walk-over for  the Trophy winner Jacob Von Koskull. No less than eleven points of difference with his immediate follower, teammate Alexander Grönblom, he accumulated 20 points. Third was Albert Torres, of RCN Palma.

Awards
The terrace of the RCN Torrevieja was swarming with kids. The victors looked forward to collect their trophy, the rest of the participants had the hope of becoming one of the winners in the price draw held at the end of the performance.
The trophy ceremony was chaired by Eduardo Dolon, mayor of Torrevieja, accompanied by Joaquín Albaladejo, vice president of the Tourism Board Costa Blanca and Luis Mª Pizana, tourism councilor of the City of Torrevieja. The host of the event, German Soler, president of the Royal Sailing Club, was accompanied by the President of the Valencian Sailing Federation, José David Martínez, and members of the board of the Real Club Náutico.
Trophies were awarded to the top 10 finishers overall, and for the first three U-12: 1st Fabian Magnusson (ROSS) 2nd Manuel Beltra (RCR Alicante) and 3rd Nacho Davila.
Also the first three females trophy classification were collected: 1st Victoria Yvaylova, CV Blanes, 2nd Mary Bovar, RCN Palma and 3rd Victoria Ortega.
At the end of the performance, in the joy expressed by the participants, we proceeded to allot among all the sailors, coaches and members of the organization several gifts from partner brands. CITIZEN Watches, Sails Olimpic Sails, sunglasses, nautical clothing and gear offered by INTERMAR SAILING.
So with joy and good atmosphere three days together were concluded , in  intense activity at sea and on land. Three days of excitement, laughs, scares, and demonstrations of courage overcome.
It has not been a little thing, but … I hope next year again to celebrate the 7th International Optimist Trophy “City of Torrevieja”!
