Dawn Garcia became winner of the Optimist class B in the eighteenth Benidorm Trophy Christmas Junior Nautic Sailing.

More than 120 sailors gathered last weekend, 7th and 8th of January at the CN Benidorm to race the XVIII Sailing Nautical Christmas Junior Trophy, in which Alba Garcia of the RCN Torrevieja was proclaimed champion of the Optimist class B. Traditionally the Christmas Trophy Nautical opened the year for the Junior Sailing of Valencia, in a race that was scoring for the regional circuit Junior Sailing table Bic Techno 293 and Optimist B.
Spectacular comeback in Optimist B for Alba Garcia
With more than 100 sailors on the race course, in the Optimist B it was hard work to ensure your score over the weekend.
Carles Albelda, the RCN Calpe, opened the scoring in the first lap. The Alicantese Pablo de Bejar, who had lost  in the first, took his revenge and marked a first place in the second. Tremendously competitive at sea, sailors took unspeakable risks and early exits were paid for very expensively. But Sunday was for the great competitor Alba Garcia of the  RCN Torrevieja. After adding a 2nd  and 12th  on Saturday, on Sunday he made ​​a dramatic comeback and achieved the two laps in a day. The series allowed to discard their worst off 12 points and he was proclaimed champion of the Benidorm Trophy with 4 points on the board, 5 ahead of Carles Albelda, RCN of Calpe, who scored 9 points. Very competitive was a tie for third with 15 points. Luis Aroca, Javea CN up to the podium,being Paula Lissorge’s (of CN Campello) best split, who had to settle for fourth place. Fifth Arturo Beltran of RCR Alicante, with 19 points.
